How I Reduced Server Response Time By Switching to DreamHost – https://mbsy.co/lFBpj
As a long-time Host Gator customer who manages about a dozen word press blogs and other sites through their service, I always found it frustrating that the server response time (the time it takes for a page to load for users) was painfully long (over 4.9 seconds for some pages and as much as 40 or more seconds for others). This not only provides an extremely negative experience for visitors, but also destroys your ability to get a decent SEO rank on Google as Google has no interest in promoting poorly performant pages.
Recently I decided to look elsewhere and after much research decided to give Dream Host a try. In this video I compare the server response time of my website before and after the move and share the results of this exercise with you here so you can see if the move was worth it in the event you find yourself in a similar situation.
tl;dr Moved my website from Host Gator to a comparably priced DreamHost plan and reduced my server response time from 4.9 seconds to .97 seconds.
