#proxmox #proxmoxve #microsoft #hyper-v #vhdx #qcow2 #qemu-img

This video is a conversion from a Hyper-V 2012 R2 VHDX Virtual Hard Disk to a Proxmox VE 5.2 QCOW2 Hard Disk.

The Commands used to do the conversion of the VHDX to QCOW2

qemu-img check -r all test01.vhdx
qemu-img convert -O qcow2 test01.vhdx /var/lib/vz/images/100/vm-100-disk-1.qcow2

Some Notes:
This video is only one of a couple of ways you can convert a Virtual Machine from one Hypervisor to another; works best on Linux Virtual Machines as they mostly redetect the hardware upon load; and only require a minimum reconfiguration. Windows Conversions are more involved and I can show on a later video if there is interest.
